MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Athletics will host one varsity and two junior varsity events on campus this week, including JV Men's and Women's Basketball and Men's and Women's Track and Field.

  • This kicks off the season open for DWU Softball as they look to pick up where they left off last year.

  • Last season, DWU rolled past York (NE) 11–2 at the ASBSC and will look to replicate that performance with inaugural head coach Oswald leading the way.

  • DWU is coming off back-to-back dual wins over No. 25 Morningside and Waldorf. 

  • Individually, DWU boasts four student-athletes ranked nationally by the NAIA. The Tigers feature Jagger Tyler ranked 14th, and Teagan Foreman ranked 15th at 174 pounds, Jackson Remmers ranked 20th at 165 pounds, and Kipp Cordes ranked 20th at 133 pounds.

  • DWU is coming off a tough loss to Waldorf at the Battle of the Bowman. 

  • The Grand View will be a good test as they prepare to make a run in the GPAC tournament.

  • The DWU women were highlighted by Shirley Huckins' first-place finish in the unseeded weight throw, strong pentathlon performances from Dani Deffenbaugh, Riley Jones, and Jessica Venneberg, and multiple top-20 finishes across sprints, hurdles, and distance events. On the men's side, Quenton Walls led the way in the jumps, Dustin Lemaster posted a top-10 finish in the 400m, and the Tigers added solid results across vault, sprints, and distance events to round out a balanced team effort.
