MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Athletics will host one varsity event on campus this week, including our Baseball team at Drake Field as they host a double header against Dickinson State (N.D.). 

  

Wednesday, February 4th

(9) Women's Basketball at Waldorf

Quick Notes 

  • Dakota Wesleyan is coming off an overwhelming win over Doane to earn its 14th straight win. 

  • In the last matchup with Waldorf, DWU toppled Waldorf 97-35 at the Corn Palace.

  • DWU is coming off a dramatic win over Doane (NE) in overtime to get the Tigers back at the .500 mark in league play. 

  • Dakota Wesleyan is looking to sweep Waldorf for the second straight year.

 

Friday, February 6th

Men's/Women's Track & Field at Mount Marty Last Chance Meet

Quick Notes 

  • The women's team turned in a strong performance, highlighted by several personal records, event wins, and podium finishes across both the track and field events. The day was capped by a new NAIA top-100 mark in the 4x400m relay and standout efforts from Stacy Ruelas-Hertz, Shirley Huckins, and multiple PR performances.

  • The men's team was led by Mikey Hart, who won the 60m with a season-best 7.10 seconds, alongside multiple personal records and strong field performances highlighted by Trevor Sladky, Sean DeBlieck, and Talan Heezen. The day concluded with a season-best 4x400m relay time of 3:32.59, ranking 86th nationally and giving both relay squads NAIA top-100 marks on the same day.

  

Saturday, February 7th 

Women's Wrestling at GPAC Duals-Doane

Quick Notes 

  • Isabelle Camarillo led the Tigers with two wins at 131 pounds, including a 15–12 decision and a pinfall. Cerys Gardner, Tiara Faehnrich, Sava'nah Norte, and Kaitlin Gay all gained valuable experience, each competing in two matches across their respective weight classes. The Tigers used the event to build momentum heading into the GPAC postseason.

  • Olivia Smith made news as the first-ever DWU Tiger to earn GPAC wrestler of the week.

 

Softball vs Northern State (S.D.)

  • Softball is coming off an undefeated weekend at Dordt, as Ally Ernsberger pitched a complete-game shutout with a 0.00 ERA through two starts

  • DWU looks to continue its undefeated streak under inaugural head coach Oswald.
