Bio

General: The Casper, Wyo., native transfers to the Tigers after a two-year career at Lake Region State College as an outfielder. 

Senior (2022): Appeared in 28 games for the Tigers in 2022, going 11-for-56 at the plate… he tallied two doubles and a home run for nine RBI and seven runs… he had nearly as many walks as he did RBI, taking a stroll to first eight different times… on the mound, he had ten appearances going 1-1 after throwing 15 complete frames… he allowed nine earned runs, while walking 12 batters and striking out six… he posted a 3.60 strike out per nine inning average, and a 5.40 ERA.

Junior (2021): Appeared in 20 games for the Tigers… Tallied four hits, four runs, and one RBI in 18 at bats… in the field, Halverson recorded 11 putouts and 4 assists.

Previous College: Selected to the Dean's List for three semesters at Lake Region State.

Righthanded ace Jacob Glovich sparked Dakota Wesleyan with six efficient innings on the mound while the Blue and Gray followed suit offensively for the home win to conclude the 2022 campaign.

MITCHELL, S.D. – A total of nine seniors were honored as the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team commenced its 2022 senior day against University of Jamestown in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) doubleheader on Thursday evening from the newly renovated Drake Field in Mitchell, S.D. Senior Matt Bezdicek wrote his name into the Dakota Wesleyan baseball record books with his program best, single season 17th double of the season, and Wyatt Hunt homered; yet Jamestown stole the show with a 7-4 win in the opener and the 16-5 victory in game two.

MITCHELL, S.D. – In the thick of a congested Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) postseason push, head coach Charlie Dubanoski, and the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball program helped its cause with a doubleheader sweep of conference rival Northwestern College on Saturday afternoon from Cadwell Park in Mitchell, S.D. Senior lefthanded pitcher Matt Bezdicek worked the complete game, and Dakota Wesleyan clocked the 6-4 opener followed by a 4-3 victory in the finale for the series win.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Headed down the final stretch of the 2022 regular season, the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team battled conference foe Northwestern College in a pivotal doubleheader on Friday afternoon from Baseball Diamond complex in Orange City Iowa. Senior pitcher Dawson Penticoff collected the complete game on bump, and Dakota Wesleyan overcame a 6-4 loss in the opener with a must-have, 12-4 victory in game two.

HASTINGS, Neb. – Seven quality innings from Jereko Martinez on the mound and a season-high three RBI from freshman Michael Zeman assisted the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team to an even series split following a doubleheader matinee versus Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) opponent Hastings College on Sunday from Duncan Field in Hastings, Neb. Hastings grabbed the opener, 14-8, though Dakota Wesleyan answered the call with a sense of urgency in game two and ultimately secured the 9-4 road win.

HASTINGS, Neb. – Down to the final month of the regular season, the Dakota Wesleyan University baseball program squared off against league opponent Hastings College in a Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) doubleheader on Saturday from Duncan Field in Hastings, Neb. Dakota Wesleyan was unable to hang onto a late lead in the opener falling 5-4 in extra innings, though DWU bounced back for a 7-5 victory over Hastings in the rubber match.
