Junior (2023): Played and started in 38 games at second base for the Tigers...finished the season with a .280 batting average, .364 on base, five doubles, 12 RBI, 12 runs, six stolen bases, and a .961 fielding percentage...had a career-high three runs batted in, three hits, and three runs scored vs. D2 opponent SMSU (3/6/23)...followed up that game with another three hit performance which included a double and stolen base against Bethany Lutheran (3/7/23)...recorded a 2 for 3 day with a double and run scored against Briar Cliff (4/6/23).

Sophomore (2022): Played in 37 games during the 2022 season… went 30-for-110 with four doubles, 14 RBI, and 22 runs… posting 15 walks for a .403 on base percentage, and a .309 slugging percentage…he was hit by nine pitches during the season and tallied four extra base hits… he recorded 65 assists on 57 putouts on the season with a .929 fielding percentage after being credited with nine errors.

High School: The USF transfer looks to make an impact right away for the Tigers... the tri-sport student-athlete of hockey, football, and baseball accrued various awards in all three sports... in baseball, the Mitchell, S.D. native earend multiple player of the game awards (2016, 2017, 2018), Hustler of the Year (2017), All-Region 2A Team (2017), and All-Region 2nd Team All-State (2018).

The Dakota Wesleyan baseball team picked up their first win of the 2023 season with a 4-0 shoutout win over Bethany Lutheran College. Dexter Payne was the star in this one going eight shutout innings with five punchouts. Drew Kitchens followed up his three hit day yesterday with another three hit effort today. Lane Darrow continued his strong start to the season collecting three hits as well.

TIGERS FALL IN SLUGFEST TO MUSTANGS 17-9

Dakota Wesleyan baseball fell to D2 program Southwest Minnesota State in a slugfest by a score of 17-9 on their second day of their spring, Tucson, Arizona trip. The Tigers were outhit by the Mustangs 17-11. Seth Christiansen got the start for the Tigers and was tagged with the loss. Dakota Wesleyan got the bats going in this one though being led by Drew Kitchens going 3 for 4 with three runs batted in and scored to go with a walk and stolen base. Diego Jirau also collected three hits and a stolen base while hustling around the bases with a triple. Caleb Meyers recorded two hits, one being a double and tied with Kitchens with three RBI in the game.

Dakota Wesleyan baseball falls 15-6 in their final game of a three-game series with Kansas Wesleyan. Lane Darrow again was the bright spot for the Tigers, going 4 for 5 with a double and two runs scored. Seth Christiansen started on the mound tossing 3.2 innings giving up six runs on six hits and racking up four strikeouts. The Tigers drop to 0-3 on the season and look ahead to their seven-game spring trip in Tucson, Ariz. The Coyotes improve to 9-5 on the year with the three-game sweep.

The Dakota Wesleyan Baseball team dropped their first doubleheader of the 2023 season by scores of 12-2 in game 1 and 8-0 in game 2. The Tigers collected two runs on six hits in the first game while going scoreless with two hits in the second. Lane Darrow went 2 for 5 on the day with a run scored, double and a walk. DWU looks to get in the win column with a rematch against the Coyotes tomorrow at noon.
