Former DWU star quarterback picked up by Tampa Bay Storm

TAMPA BAY, Fla. – Former DWU standout quarterback Jonathan Bane is on the move in professional football. This time signing with the Five-Time World Champion Tampa Bay Storm of the Arena Football League.

Bane, a native of Temple, Texas, first began in the Professional Indoor Football League, playing for the Richmond Raiders last season. The 6-foot-3 signal caller played four seasons at DWU, while also being named an All-GPAC selection three times in his career.

In his collegiate career Bane completed 744-of-1,360 pass attempts for 9,224 yards and 83 touchdowns. He finished as DWU's all-time passing leader with 9,224 yards.

"Jonathan is a quarterback that has the quick release that is needed for the indoor game," Storm Vice President of Football Operations Jeff Gooch said. "We look forward to seeing him come out to compete in training camp."

The Tampa Bay Storm enter their 25th season in the Arena Football League on April 1 in Tampa, Fla.
