Bio
Junior (2022): started in all games on the defensive front for the Tigers earning Honorable Mention honors for the 2022 season...finished the season with a career-high 49 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, 7.0 TFL and a team-high four blocks...top performance of the season came in the season finale against Mount Marty (11/5/22) when he recorded a career-high and game-high 10 tackles, 1.0 sack, 1.5 TFL and blocked two crucial kicks to seal the win for the Tigers...Engen also was credited with six tackles, 0.5 sack and one blocked kick against Dakota State (9/25/22)...currently sits at 82 tackles, 5.0 sacks, 14.5 TFL and five blocked kicks for his career.
Sophomore (2021): Engen led the returners from the 2021 season in tackles for a loss, pushing opponents back 32 yards on seven and a half tackles for a loss… overall, he recorded the second most tackles amongst returners with 31 through ten games played last season… in back-to-back weeks, he tallied a season high six tackles, on the road against Concordia then again at home against Doane.
Freshman (2020): Appeared in six games for the Tigers… Tallied one assisted tackle, one unassisted tackle, and one tackle for a loss.
High School: Recorded a whopping 114 tackles, 29 tackles for loss, eight sacks, one interception, three blocked punts, 10 forced fumbles, four fumble recoveries and five pass deflections his senior year … led Viborg-Hurley High School to a 12-0 season and the 9AA State title … was named the 9AA Championship Lineman-of-the- Game … was a 2019 All-State and All-Conference defensive lineman selection … Elite-45 Honorable Mention selection … All-State Academic selection in football … three-year starter for the Cougars … three-year letter recipient in football … also competed in wrestling for two years and track for four years … notched a seventh-place finish at the state tournament at 220 pounds his senior year … six-time letter awardee in both sports … member of the National Honor Society … Academic Honor Roll all four years.
