MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Football hosted the Midland Warriors at Joe Quintal Field for the team's 10th game of the 2025 season.

The Warriors opened the game with a seven-play, 60-yard touchdown drive to take the initial advantage in the contest. The Tigers attempted to strike back with an initial scoring drive of their own, but an interception was the first of five turnovers for the day for Dakota Wesleyan, which gave Midland more momentum through the first half of play. Midland extended its lead to 17-0 by the end of the first quarter off the back of a subsequent DWU interception and fumble, making for three turnovers on the team's first three drives. Defensively, the Tigers were led by defensive back Trevor Sladky, who racked up 10 total tackles and three pass breakups, while linebackers Grayson Hanson and Joe Van Overschelde combined for 18 tackles, with Hanson also recording a forced fumble for DWU. Even so, the offensive attack from the Warriors gave the Tigers trouble, as Midland outgained Dakota Wesleyan 477 total yards to 230. The Tigers got on the board in the second quarter after Chase McGillivary took an attempted sneak on 4th & 1 to the house for a 25-yard rushing touchdown to bring the score to 17-7, but two more touchdowns from Midland extended the Warriors' lead to 31-7 at the half.

Offensively, Dakota Wesleyan was led by Caleb Kilbride, who brought in four catches for 57 yards. Cole Holden also hauled in four receptions as the second-leading receiver on the team, putting up 49 yards on the day. Jed Jenson went 14-23 through the air for 162 yards but would not be able to record a touchdown on the day, and also threw four interceptions by the end of the contest. The Tiger defense slowed down the Warriors in the second half, but with no points to match, Midland bumped the score up to 45-7 by the fourth quarter. Ja'Dyn McGary recorded an interception late in the contest to contribute to the effort. Midland went 10-16 (63%) on third down and 100% on three fourth-down conversion attempts to Dakota Wesleyan's two conversions on eight third- and fourth-down opportunities. In the end, the 45-7 score held, and the Tigers move to 4-6 on the season and 3-6 in GPAC play.

DWU Football will be back in action to conclude the season on Saturday, November 15th, at 1:00 PM at Joe Quintal Field, where the team will also celebrate senior day. See the full 2025 schedule here.
