General: After leading Vermillion High School to a conference and region championship, Dobney joins the Tiger basketball program for the 2021-22 season.

High School: Averaged 11 points, 5.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per contest as a sophomore … shot 42% from the floor during the 2018-19 season … recorded 13.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and three assists per outing as a junior … converted 53% of his field goals … tallied 21 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game in his senior campaign … paced the Tanagers to a 17-6 mark during the 2019-20 season … finished his senior campaign with just two losses as Vermillion High finished 23-2 … helped the Tanagers to a conference and region title as a senior … a nominee for South Dakota’s Mr. Basketball … finished as a Midco Sports Network Player-of-the-Year runner-up … competed on the soccer team for four seasons … earned All-State honors in both basketball and soccer ... a four-year starter and letterwinner on the pitch … a member of the Tanager track and field and cross country teams as well … a four-time state qualifier in cross country … three-time state medalist at the South Dakota State Cross Country championships … helped the Vermillion High 4 x 800 meter-relay team to a state championship.
