TIGER MEN’S BASKETBALL POSTS THREE TO ALL-CONFERENCE LIST

Mitchell, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan men's basketball secured a trio of Great Plain Athletic All-Conference awards this morning with senior forward, Koln Oppold; sophomore guard, Kallan Herman; and sophomore guard, Jakob Dobney.

Sioux Falls native, Oppold came back for a fifth season with the Tigers ultimately earning him a GPAC First-Team nod. He shot 44.5% from the floor on the season and hit 81.5% of his free throws to score a season total 397 points. On December 2nd, he went for a new season and career high scoring 34 points while shooting 55% from the floor and beyond the arc at home against Doane. In the same game, he also grabbed 11 boards for his first of two double-doubles in the 2022-23 season. Oppold led the team in assists with 127, and in rebounds, grabbing 192.

Norfolk native, Herman garnered an honorable mention in his second season with the Tigers after playing in all 29 games and starting in 22. Herman tallied 375 total points during his sophomore campaign ranking second on the team. Shooting the ball from deep with 41.2% accuracy, he also led eligible players in free throw percentage, shooting 82.5% from the foul line. Ball control, he tallied 46 assists and 60 rebounds.

Vermillion native, Dobney also secured an honorable mention selection during his sophomore campaign starting all 29 games for DWU in 2022-23. Dobney ranked third on the team with 329 total points shooting 42.1% from the floor, 34.6% from deep, and 71.2% at the foul line. He led the team in steals and blocks with 28 and 18, respectively.
