SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Basketball traveled to Sioux City to take on the Briar Cliff Chargers in a conference contest between two surging squads.
The Tigers found the initial advantage in the contest with impressive first-half shooting, especially in the opening minutes. Randy Rosenquist Jr. led the way for the Tigers, which has become a regular occurrence so far this season, posting 19 total points and 14 rebounds in total to record a double-double, with 12 points and eight of those boards happening in the first half. Anthony Riggans was also a major first-half contributor and ended up scoring 14 total points while going 4-8 (50%) from the field and 2-3 (66.7%) from beyond the arc. The Tigers held on to their lead through a majority of the first half, but an efficient scoring run in the final couple of minutes for the Chargers gave Briar Cliff a 49-43 advantage heading into the locker room. Off the bench, Dakota Wesleyan was aided by CJ Banks, who recorded seven points in 13 minutes of play. Banks went a perfect 3-3 from the field in his effort, while the Tigers went 15-30 (50%) from the field in the first half, and the Chargers went 16-28 (57.1%).
Easton Neuendorf and Steele Morgan got to work in the second half as the Tigers tried to keep pace with the Charger offense. Neuendorf recorded 12 of his 17 points in the back half of play and led DWU in assists with five, while Morgan grabbed seven total rebounds and added 11 points to the scoreboard. Tyson Stevenson rounded out the starting lineup with 11 points of his own and shot 5-9 (55.6%) from the field. Even with the added firepower, Dakota Wesleyan was not able to slow down the Briar Cliff attack, ultimately not able to reclaim the lead at any point in the second half. Dakota Wesleyan outshot Briar Cliff from the field and from three, but the advantage that BCU gained with converted free-throw attempts and more rebounds added up by the end of the contest. The Chargers claimed the 90-81 win over the Tigers. DWU moves to 5-4 overall and 2-2 in GPAC play.
DWU Men's Basketball will be back in action against the Dakota State Trojans in Madison on Tuesday, December 2nd. See the full 2025-26 schedule here.
