Tiger men take fifth at BCU Mini Tour

NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D.  – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's golf team competed in a two-day event hosted by Briar Cliff University at Dakota Dunes Golf Course and Twin Rivers Golf Course Monday and Tuesday.

Leading the way for the Tiger was junior Thomas Hogg (Aberdeen, S.D.) who shot a two-round total of 149 to finish in a tie for sixth. Hogg's shot an 81 in the first round and finished the second round with a 68. Seniors Tyler Burr (Belle Fourche, S.D.) and Anthony Husher (Winner, S.D.) each carded a two-round score of 157 to finish in a tie for 23rd place. Junior Cal Wiese (Fedora, S.D.) rounded out the two days with a 160, finishing in a tie for 38th.

Also, competing for the Tigers individually was junior Elliott Banks (East Sussex, England). Banks carded a 153, with an 81 in the first round and a 72 in the second to tie for 12th. Sophomore Russell Pick (Kimball, S.D.) finished in 22nd place and ended the two-rounds with a score of 156. Pick carded a 73 in the first round and ended with an 83 on the second round.

As a team, DWU recorded a fifth-place finish with a two-round total of 622. The Tigers tallied a 330 in the first round and a 292 in the second. The top-team finisher was Northwestern College (Iowa), with a total of 580. Individually, the title was won by Northwestern's Justin Kraft who ended with a 143.

The Tigers men's golf team will be back on the course at the TigerBro Match, a dual match against Hastings College, Saturday at Elks Golf Course in Hastings, Neb.
