Orange City, Iowa – Dakota Wesleyan men's golf starts day one of the Siouxland Invitational in eighth place. On day one the Tigers shoot a 303, just three strokes out of seventh place Doane.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Cade Carpenter is the top finisher for DWU after day one; Carpenter shoots a 74 as he is tied for 19th place
- Devan Weelborg shoots a 75 as he is tied for 23rd
- Shooting a 76, Bennett Lundy is tied for 34th
- Micah Dohrer and Payton Phares sit 43rd and 49th after day one with stroke counts of 78 and 79 respectively
PICK'S THOUGHTS
"Our guys struggled to adjust to the speed of the greens, which led to too many 3-putts. We got off to a tough start, but I was happy with how the guys battled back. Tomorrow at Landsmeer we will have a chance to shoot some low numbers."
