MITCHELL, S.D. – In its 2021 Great Plains Athletic Conference home opener, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's soccer team welcomes conference rival Dordt University at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday from the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.
About the Tigers
- Dakota Wesleyan is averaging 5.5 shots per home match and has tallied eight corner kicks in such contests.
- The Tigers welcome the addition of five-foot-eight midfielder Barry-Dre Tibbetts (Cayman Islands, Cayman Islands) who made his first appearance for the Blue and Gray a week ago versus Briar Cliff University.
- Junior duo Rafael Calderon (Talca, Chile) and Cesar Requena (Lima, Peru) continue to propel the DWU offensive attack with 10 and eight shots on the season, respectively.
About the Defenders
- Dordt enters with an overall record of 2-6-2, including a 1-2-0 start in GPAC play during the 2021 season thanks to 16 goals and nine assists.
- On the attack, Blake Hansen continues to pace the Defender offense with seven goals and one assist in nine starts thus far.
- Brandon Hansen has made eight starts at goalkeeper this season for DU recording 68 saves and a .791 save percentage.

- Wednesday's match will mark the 11th meeting between both programs in recent history as DU holds the head-to-head advantage with a record of 6-2-2 over the Tigers since the 2011 season.
