VERMILLION, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Track & Field competed in the USD Twilight in an attempt to record national-qualifying marks ahead of the NAIA Championships.

There would only be a handful of competing athletes, but there were still strong efforts across the board, including Riley Jones, who capped off a great freshman campaign with the NAIA's 89th-best mark in the high jump. She would fall short of the qualifying standard, but still posted a 1.56m to place third in the event and record another top-100 leap. Jones also competed in the long jump, where she claimed sixth place following a top jump of 5.05m. She was the lone female athlete to represent Dakota Wesleyan at the event.

On the men's side, Talan Heezen, Tayne Herrmann, Sean DeBlieck, and Trevor Sladky would also make final pushes to advance in the postseason. DeBlieck capped off his sophomore season with a sixth-place finish in the triple jump, posting an 11.73m, while also placing in the top 10 in the long jump at 5.57m. He would be surpassed in the long jump by two of his teammates, as Herrmann posted a 5.97m leap to place eighth, while Sladky claimed seventh place with a 6.23m. Herrmann would place seventh in the triple jump as well, finishing just .11 meters behind DeBlieck. Heezen rounded out the team's efforts in the pole vault with a cleared 4.04m.
