YANKTON, S.D. – Preparing for the Great Plains Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships just two weeks away, the Dakota Wesleyan University men's cross country team battled GPAC competition on a crisp, windy day at the Mount Marty Invite on Saturday from the Fox Run Golf Course in Yankton, S.D.
Tiger freshman Caleb Sayler led the charge once again traversing the 8K course in a time of 27:45.95. Junior Wyatt Baldauf meanwhile crossed the finish line in a time of 28:12.95, recording a season best while Justin Sorensen posted a finish of 28:41.15.
Sophomore Hunter Shanks rounded out the day with a time of 29:21.30.
Both the Dakota Wesleyan men's and women's cross country squads return to the course next at the GPAC Championships in two weeks. The championship event is hosted by Northwestern College on Sat. Nov. 6 in Orange City, Iowa with the women's 5K race slated for 10:45 a.m. and the men's 8K race set to follow at 11:30 a.m.
