SIOUX CENTER, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan Men's and Women's Cross Country had four total athletes compete at the Sunflower Open, hosted by GPAC opponent Dordt.
Ella Pollreisz would stand out between both groups, placing 28th individually with an impressive time of 20:26.48 in the 5000m. While this did not surpass her eighth all-time mark in the 5000m from the week prior, it was still a solid performance to bolster the true freshman's early resume. She would be joined in the women's side by Hailey Oswald, who would record a time of 24:38.02 in the 5000m to place 62nd in the field of 73 competitors. Even with their limited samples, the Dakota Wesleyan Women's Cross Country squad looks poised to make strides throughout the rest of the season.
On the men's side, two freshman Tigers would compete in the 8000m run among 81 other individual competitors, squaring off against athletes from Dakota State, Dordt, Northwestern, and Mount Marty. Graham Huffman would get the higher mark of the two, registering a 32:33.55, while Dustin Lemaster would follow about two minutes behind, registering a 34:27.51. This marks the second race of both male athlete's careers as members of the Cross Country team.
