Cross Country Wraps Up 2025 Campaign at GPAC Championships

ASHLAND, Neb. — Both the DWU Men's & Women's Cross Country teams concluded the 2025 season at the GPAC Championships.

The women's roster was the first competitors of the day in the 6000m race, and the Tigers would be led by junior Hailey Oswald, who recorded a 28:42.53 to place 81st overall individually. Dani Deffenbaugh and Eve Laughery were the next two athletes to cross the finish line for DWU, notably both competing for the first time in the fall, with Deffenbaugh recording a time of 30:33.44, while Laughery posted a 31:17.49. Ashlyn Maldonado and Stacy Ruelas-Hertz rounded out the lineup for the women's team, posting times of 32:54.17 and 39:42.94, respectively. Overall, the team finished in 12th place.

The men competed in the 8000m race and were led by Graham Huffman, who capped off a competitive fall season with a sub-30-minute time, posting a 29:47.92 to place 70th individually. Gage Hohn and Gage Dietterle finished within 14 seconds of each other as Hohn posted a final time of 30:40.07, while Dietterle crossed the finish line at 30:53.80. Dustin Lemaster wrapped up his freshman cross country season with a final mark of 31:44.87, and Tayne Herrmann rounded out the lineup in his first appearance this fall with a recorded time of 35:14.14. The Tigers finished 10th out of 11 total competing teams.
