General: Ortega enters her first season with the Tigers, she comes to DWU from South Hills High School … she will give the Tigers options at the catcher position.

High School: Ortega has earned four varsity letters for the South Hills Huskies softball team … for her 2013-14 season she was named to the First Team All-League Sierra League and Second Team All-Area East San Gabriel Valley … also played four seasons of basketball and earned two-varsity letters.

Personal: Born Feb. 21, 1998 … daughter of Micheal Ortega and Luz Avila ... wildlife management major.
