How It Happened
Game One
- Briar Cliff brought runners around quickly in the first inning; going up 4-0 with only one out.
- Tianna Boone got the Tigers started in the bottom of the second inning with a hard single up the middle.
- DWU was not able to bring any runs across the plate as they stranded a pair in the second.
- The Tigers were not able to get any momentum going until after the Chargers crossed their seventh run of the game in the top of the third.
- In the bottom of the same inning, DWU was hitting in the top of the order as Alyssa Burke put a bunt down and reached first.
- Burke was 1-for-3 with one run and a stolen base.
- Adriana Thomason was 1-for-2 with a double, Nora Nelson was 1-for-3 with a double.
- Meghan Daffern collected the loss in game one after tossing 4 1/3 innings, allowing nine hits, and eight runs.
Game Two
- Tava Boone worked efficiently in game two through the first three innings as the Tigers were able to give her a one run cushion in the bottom of the first inning.
- Burke led things off in the first with a hard-hit single to the shortstop, followed by a steal of second base.
- Thomason moved Burke to third base after a sac bunt, then McKinnely Mull singled through the left side allowing burke to score the opening run.
- The second and third innings were scoreless as both Ta. Boone and Briar Cliff pitcher were strong allowing one hit combined between them in two frames.
- After the Chargers left two runners stranded in the top of the fourth inning, the Tigers strung together a double to left and a single to right field allowing two runs to score for the 3-0 lead.
- DWU got into a jam in the top of the seventh with no outs, bases loaded and a 3-1 lead.
- Dakota Wesleyan was able to wrap up a double play getting a runner out a third, followed by a tag out at home for two out and only two runners on.
- Briar Cliff then stranded two runners on as they tallied only one run.
- Burke went 2-for-4 with one run and a stolen base.
- Tianna Boone was 1-for-1 with a run, two walks, and a double.
- Peyton Bagley was 2-for-3 with a run, an RBI, one stolen base, and one double.
- Tava Boone collected the complete game win allowing 11 hits and one earned run on 31 batters faced.

Dakota Wesleyan softball will wrap up the 2022 regular season with one last home game on Thursday, April 28. The Tigers will take on the Defenders of Dordt beginning at 4 p.m. from Dr. McWhirter Field. Coach Lien and company will also be honoring their two seniors between game one and game two in what is supposed to be a great day for Tiger softball.
