Celeste Beck begins her fourth season as the assistant coach for the Dakota Wesleyan University women’s basketball team in 2018-19 after playing for Head Coach Jason Christensen for the previous four seasons.
Beck graduated from DWU in May 2015 with a degree in biology and a minor in business. Beck has a list of accomplishments in her time with the women’s basketball team: NAIA All-American Honorable Mention, CoSIDA Academic All-District, NAIA Scholar Athlete, All-GPAC Second Team, All-GPAC Honorable Mention, set the school record for 3-point percentage in a season as a sophomore (.488) and ended her career with 1,262 points.
Before coming to Dakota Wesleyan University, Beck graduated from Sioux Falls Roosevelt. At Roosevelt Beck had a successful career. She was a three-year starter and finished her senior season with 255 points, 93 rebounds, 106 assists and 35 steals. Also, helped the Rough Riders to a 22-4 record and a fifth-place finish at the South Dakota Class “AA” State Tournament as a junior. Earned All-City, All-Conference and All-State Second-Team honors. A member of the National Honor Society and a four-year National Merit Scholar.
Beck now resides in Mitchell, S.D. and recently obtained a Master's degree from DWU in educational policy and administration.
