Enid, Okla. – Dakota Wesleyan women's golf had a tough day one with cold and wind, as day two wasn't much better in the Sooner State of Oklahoma. The Tigers battled through with two golfers placing in the top-15 as the team placed fourth to open the spring season.

How It Happened
Megan Hinker posted a strong day one in the not so favorable conditions at the Meadowlake Intercollegiate meet. On day one, after the front nine, she was even with a 36, but the back nine proved to be trouble in the condition as she was nine strokes over par after holes 14, 16, and 17 to close out the first of two rounds. Her second day was much better even though it was still cold. Through the first nine holes of her second round, she was three over par after shooting a bogey on holes three, four, and seven. Hinker was able to grab a pair of birdie shots on the back nine though as she went six strokes over par on day two, tying her for first place with a +15.
Moncur was looking on day two to improve from her day one scorecard of 23 strokes over par. She was able to accomplish that shooting only 12 over par on day two with six total pars and 12 bogeys for a 14th place finish. Austreim also improved by 10 strokes on day two picking up double the amount of par shots than she had after the conclusion of day one. Austreim's front nine carded four par shots alone.
Koepke cleaned up her scorecard in the second round shooting a +7 on the front nine and a +11 on the back nine. Koepke picked up four par shots on the front and three bogeys before grabbing two more par shots and four more bogey holes on the back. Johnson rounded out the Tigers first meet of the spring season shooting +12 on both the front and back nine on day two.

"The ladies battled tough conditions in Oklahoma. I'm happy with how everyone managed their emotions and didn't give up, we have a lot of things to improve on as we continue through the season. Once again [Megan] Hinker with an impressive finish tied for first after a birdie on two of her final three holes. I'm excited for the rest of the spring season and hopefully we can get some better weather."
