TIGER WOMEN’S GOLF RUN TO THE TOP SPOT CUT SHORT IN NIOBRARA

Niobrara, Neb. – Dakota Wesleyan women's golf was on a run as a team sitting in third after the first round yesterday. The Tigers were led by none other than Megan Hinker sitting tied for fourth place after shooting 13 over par.

How It Happened

Hinker struggled on the front nine, only carding two par shots on holes seven and nine, but the back nine was a different story as she cleaned up her game going par on all but three holes, cutting three strokes allowing her to climb the board and tie for fourth place.

Kopeke also had a tough time in the first round with the challenging course layout, but she was able to card three par shots and a birdie. Moncur, Johnson, and Austreim were unable to stay away from the double bogeys as it reflected on their scorecards.

DWU women's golf has one more event prior to the GPAC Championships. On Monday, April 17th the Tigers will head to Sioux Center, Iowa for a one-day event at the Defender Women's Invite. Dakota Wesleyan women's golf will tee off on The Ridge Golf Course.
