DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Golf traveled to Dakota Dunes to compete against 11 other teams at the 2026 Great Plains Athletic Conference Women's Golf Championships.

The Tigers would be led by the 2025 GPAC Women's Golf individual champion, Allison Meyerink, as she kept a first-place pace throughout all three rounds of play. Her best round would be recorded in the middle of the contest, posting a 76 (+3) in round two to help position her to keep her top spot in the standings through the third and final round. Meyerink would record five birdies in total en route to a final score of 233 (+14), besting four other top-200 golfers in the process to earn her second consecutive individual Great Plains Athletic Conference Championship by a couple of strokes. The sophomore from Mitchell will advance to the NAIA National Championship site later in the month of May, alongside the Morningside Mustang lineup, which punched its ticket after placing first as a team. Dakota Wesleyan would place ninth out of the 12 competing squads, and would be supported by veterans Dakotah Larson and Sara Sudenga in the back half of the competition to help bump DWU up a spot on the team leaderboards. Larson would finish 28th overall at a mark of 263 (+44) following an exceptional third round, where she would improve from round two by nine strokes, posting an 81 (+8) in the process. Sudenga would get off to a slow start in round one, but with 16 and 17-stroke improvements in rounds two and three, she would go on to tie for 36th, posting a 267 (+48) final score. Jaida Young posted a 332 (+113) in her effort, improving by a handful of strokes between each round, while Tessa Bulson rounded out the team effort with a 411 (+192).

Meyerink will represent DWU Women's Golf at the NAIA National Championships starting on Tuesday, May 19th, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. See updates, news, and more here.
