WOMEN’S SOCCER LOOKS TO CONTINUE MOMENTUM IN THE MIDST OF THREE-MATCH HOME STAND

MITCHELL, S.D. –  Following a thrilling 3-2 home victory over College of Saint Mary, and in the middle of a three-match home stand, the Dakota Wesleyan University women's soccer team preps for conference foe Dordt University at 5 p.m. on Wednesday from the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in Mitchell, S.D.

About the Tigers

  • Tiger senior Jozy Bardsley (Tea, S.D.) registered her ninth-career multi-goal performance during Saturday's conference victory over the Flames, finding the back of the net in the 38th and 51st minute.
  • The Dakota Wesleyan offensive attack matched a season-high in shots in a game with 16 shots along with 10 shots on goal versus CSM.
  • At the goalkeeper position, DWU is averaging 7.3 saves per match so far versus GPAC opponents.

About the Defenders    

  • Dordt enters Wednesday's match with a 5-4-1 overall record and a 0-3-1 mark in GPAC play, thus far into the 2021 campaign.
  • Head coach Alex Durbin took over the program at the beginning of the 2020 campaign and led the Defenders to a 6-8-2 overall record in 2020.  
  • Freshman Avril Baccam currently leads the DU offense with 10 goals and one assist through nine starts at the midfielder position.

Last Meeting (Dordt University)

  • Coming into Wednesday's match, the Defenders hold a 5-4-1 record over the Tigers in recent history.
  • Both programs last met a season ago as the Defenders secured a 2-0 victory over the Blue and Gray in Sioux Center, Iowa.
