STORM LAKE, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Soccer battled down in Iowa against the NCAA Division III Buena Vista Beavers.

The Tigers would be on the attack from the jump, looking to take the fight to the Beavers on their half of the pitch. DWU would be led by Hannah Petrucci and Annika Enevoldsen in keeping the pressure on Buena Vista, each registering four shots-on-goal while combining for nine total attempts. The Buena Vista defense would keep Dakota Wesleyan out of their goal, however, with an extremely impressive performance from the goalkeeper, who would prevent 17 total shots from crossing into the goal. Even with BVU's defense stiffling the Tiger offense just as each scoring opportunity presented itself, DWU would continue to push the pace. 12 total Tigers would get shots off to punch in a score, but BVU would keep the game at a score of 0-0 heading into halftime.

The second half would follow a similar pace to the first, with the Tigers continuing to find opportunities on the oppostion's net, but the Beavers continued to hold. When Buena Vista did find offensive openings, goalkeeper Abigail Colgrove would show off her own skills, registering saves on both BVU shots-on-goal. DWU would total nine corner kicks in the second half, registering 11 total during the game, all while preventing BVU from recording one of its own. The Tigers would out-shoot the Beavers 21 to four, but the continued attempts to score would be stopped by BVU at every possible avenue. Even without scoring, DWU's impressive offensive output is something to note at regular-season competition heats up.

DWU Women's Soccer will be back in action when they head down to Nebraska to face York in another out-of-conference contest. See the full 2025 schedule here.
