HASTINGS, Neb. — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Soccer faced the Hastings Broncos, who received votes in the past week's national top-25 poll.

The Tigers would be up to the task against a team on the fringe of the national rankings, with the defensive unit standing out against a high-powered Hastings offense. Abigail Colgrove would post her second impressive shutout performance of the week, totaling six saves on six shots-on-goal, and with the Broncos outshooting the Tigers 17-2, her performance was crucial in the game's final result. Mikayla AdamsMeghan Hutchison, and Jacque Madrid all played a full 90 minutes on the backline, with Adams recording one of the team's shots on the day that would be saved by the Hastings goalkeeper. The Tigers made multiple efforts to work up the opposing half of the pitch, but the defensive effort of Hastings continued to snuff out any extended goal attempts to keep DWU away from its net.

The second half of the contest saw Hastings pick up its offensive pace, putting up 13 shots in the final 45 minutes, but the Dakota Wesleyan defense continued to rally and keep the Broncos out of the net. On the offensive end, Hannah Petrucci put up the team's second and final shot of the contest just over the top crossbar, keeping the game scoreless. Abigail Determan, Annika Enevoldsen, and Noelie Prat would be the other three Tigers that stayed on the field for a full 90 minutes, and their contributions on their own half of the pitch would end up paying off, as DWU would hold Hastings to a 0-0 tie. Even with the offensive differential, Dakota Wesleyan's defense held steady for the entirety of the contest.

DWU Women's Soccer will be back in action against Northwestern on the road on Wednesday, October 1st, at 7:30 PM. See the full 2025 schedule here.
