MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Soccer faced the Doane Tigers in a Saturday night GPAC contest.

Dakota Wesleyan took control of field positioning, looking to score an early goal, similar to the pace that pushed them ahead of the Northwestern Red Raiders earlier in the week. DWU put up seven shots in the first half and five in the second half, compared to the four that Doane recorded through all 90 minutes of play, but the Tigers were not able to capitalize on their opportunities. The north-facing winds also made it difficult to get the ball up the pitch consistently for both teams. The backline proved to be extremely efficient for Dakota Wesleyan, with Meghan Hutchison and Mikayla Adams both recording shots while putting in a full 90 minutes on the pitch, and helped limit Doane's offensive opportunities. Abigail Colgrove would save the only attempt Doane sent towards the net, and thanks to the added defensive efforts of Jacque Madrid and Abigail Determan, she ended up not facing a lot of opposition. Both teams went into the half scoreless.

Offensively, Hannah Petrucci led the team in shots with four in total, while Sara Ewert sent both of her attempts at a goal towards the net. Multiple Tigers had favorable matchups against the defense to tap in a goal, but quick reactions from Doane prevented DWU from finding any points. Annika Enevoldsen also recorded a shot on the goal that almost connected. Even with the offense not finding the back of the net, the defense continued to show out to keep the Doane offense scoreless. A final push from Doane would be snuffed out to set the final score to 0-0 after a full 90 minutes of competition. The draw moves Dakota Wesleyan Women's Soccer to 1-1-3 in conference play, putting them at ninth place in the conference, along with a 2-2-6 record overall.

DWU Women's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday, October 11th, when they head to Fremont to take on the Midland Warriors. See the full 2025 schedule here.
