Yankton, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mount Marty Twilight Meet Wednesday in Yankton, S.D.
Leading the way for the men was senior Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) who took fifth in the 1,500-meter run in 4:15.51 minutes. Leading the way for the women was Meghan Travis (Minneota, Minn.) who tied for third in the high jump with a mark of 4-11 feet. Travis also took ninth in the 100-meter dash in 13.23 seconds.
In the long jump, Alyssa Weidler (Sioux Falls, S.D.) came in fifth with a leap of 17-1.25, while Lindsey Hale (Yankton, S.D.) took eighth place after a jump of 16-1. Callie Heath (Colome, S.D.) took fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.95 seconds, as Kaylynn Anziano (Rapid City, S.D.) finished in ninth in 1:01.84.
Samantha Schuyler (Winner, S.D.) brought home a sixth-place finish in the 800-meter run in 2:21.15, while Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) came in 11th place in 2:27.97. In the 1,500-meter run, Mckenna Rogers (Saint Michael, Minn.) took sixth after a time of 5:02.72. Mikaela Stofferahn (Dell Rapids, S.D.) came in sixth in the shot put after a toss of 41-1 feet.
The women's 4x100-meter relay team and 4x400-meter relay team brought home a first-place finish. The 4x100-meter team included Weidler, Anziano, Heath and Lydia Gerber (Canton, S.D.) who finished in 50.25. The 4x400-meter team consisted of Anziano, Schuyler, Heath and Aubrey Rabenberg (Platte, S.D.) who finished with a time of 4:15.46.
In the 200-meter dash, Jon Harmening (Jackson, Minn.) came in 10th place in 23.7 seconds, while Rex Schlicht (Woonsocket, S.D.) finished in sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 58.2. The 4x400-meter relay team consisting of Schlicht, Harmening, Tibbs and Brendan Langbehn (Lennox, S.D.) came in second place after a time of 3:34.96.
Jared Rabenberg (Britton, S.D.) finished in fifth in the long jump with a mark of 20-10.75 feet, as Tyson Jenkins (Clark, S.D.) came in fourth in the shot put with a throw of 51-7.25. In the discus throw, Matthew Campbell (Gregory, S.D.) finished in seventh place after a toss of 154-09.
The DWU men's and women's track and field teams compete at the GPAC Championships May 4 and 5 in Sioux City, Iowa.
