Mitchell, S.D. – The College Sports Communicators Academic All-America committee announced the AAA teams today as Ady Dwight a junior from Langford, S.D. and a nursing major was selected to the first team, while senior Madeline Else a biochemistry major was selected to the second team. The Tigers are the only team in the GPAC to place two student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-America Team.
Dwight was a critical part of the Tigers attach all season long in 2022, recording season totals of 571 kills, 4.68 kills per set, .343 hitting percentage and 130 total blocks. Dwight has also been named an NAIA All-American First Team players, GPAC First Team All-Conference, NAIA National All-Tournament team, and AVCA West Central Attacker of the year for her performance on the court during the 2022 season. This marks the second consecutive season Dwight has been honored as a CSC (formerly CoSIDA) Academic All-America player.
Else was also a major part in the Tigers success this season at the setter position. Else recorded a total of 1,432 assists in 2022 alone, setting her in third for all-time assists in the program with a total of 3,733. Else has been an All-Conference player for the last two seasons while earning three GPAC setter of the week honors and two NAIA setter of the week honors during her career. Else has also been on the deans list for the entirety of her playing and academic career, while being named to the NAIA Scholar-Athletes list multiple times.
