STORM LAKE, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Wrestling competed at the Buena Vista University Women's Open down in Iowa.
The Tigers had four total athletes compete in their respective weight classes. At 110, Cerys Gardner grabbed a win on the back side of the bracket, pinning her opponent in 1:21, while Kaylei Hinck won her opening-round contest against Escalante of Augsburg with a pinfall in the second period. Tiara Faehnrich would compete at 138 and lose her opening match before recording a couple of forfeit wins, and Kaitlin Gay rounded out the full lineup with an eighth-place finish at the 207-pound weight class with a 1-3 overall record on the day.
