SIOUX CITY, Iowa — Olivia Smith has been named the GPAC Women's Wrestler of the Week after two gutsy match wins in duals against Buena Vista and Morningside.

Against Buena Vista, Smith was able to dominate the opposition and record an 11-0 technical fall to help boost DWU to an 18-15 victory over the NCAA Division III squad. Later that same evening, she would battle through injury and a handful of tough situations to pull out a pinfall against Baylie Wehmeyer of Morningside, boosting her resume ahead of postseason competition. DWU defeated Morningside 30-10 in that dual.

This weekly award for Smith also makes history, as it is Dakota Wesleyan Women's Wrestling's first-ever Player of the Week honor. Smith continues to build her legacy as the Women's Wrestling program continues to grow.
