FOREST CITY, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Wrestling traveled to Iowa to take on the Waldorf Warriors in the fifth-annual Battle at the Boman dual meet.
The Tigers were able to fill four of the 10 allotted matchups in the dual meet due to injury and other circumstances, keeping DWU behind on the team scoreboard as Waldorf picked up six forfeit victories. Even still, those who did compete gave a valiant effort. Kaylei Hinck competed at 117 for the Tigers and was able to score a takedown early, but the counterattack from Serrano turned into a 12-2 technical superiority in favor of Waldorf. The next Dakota Wesleyan athlete to compete was Tiara Faehnrich at the 138-pound weight class, where she was able to fight through a scramble and catch Hibner of Waldorf on her back, recording the team's lone win on the evening with a pinfall in 1:22. Sava'nah Norte fell in the 160-pound belt, and Kaitlin Gay rounded out the Tigers' effort at 207 that ended in a 12-0 technical superiority that favored the Warriors. Waldorf claimed the dual win over Dakota Wesleyan by a team score of 43-6.
DWU Women's Wrestling will be back in action at the Warrior Open on Saturday, January 31st, down in Nebraska. See the full 2025-26 schedule here.
