FREMONT, Neb. — Dakota Wesleyan Women's Wrestling had three athletes represent the team at the Warrior Open, hosted by GPAC foe Midland down in Nebraska.

Kaylei Hinck was the first DWU wrestler to see the mat, competing in the 117-pound weight class. She would fall via technical superiority to Callie Payton on Lindsey Wilson, and lost her following contest on the back side of the bracket in a tough bout against Taylor Hood of Midland. Tiara Faehnrich squared off against an opponent from Hastings ahead of the postseason, but was not able to collect a win in either of her contests in the 138-pound bracket. Sava'nah Norte rounded out the team's effort with the most time on the mat, but the tough competition would see her drop her two bouts on the day at 160. Even with the losses, the team still finds opportunities to compete as the postseason nears, with wrestlers continuing to look for chances to get wins over GPAC opponents.

DWU Women's Wrestling will be back in action at the Grand View Open on Saturday, February 7th. See the full 2025-26 schedule here.
