NORTH SIOUX CITY, S.D. – The Dakota Wesleyan University cross country teams were back in action at the Briar Cliff Invitational Saturday in North Sioux City, S.D.
Leading the way for the DWU men was sophomore Lane Tibbs (Kenesaw, Neb.) who finished the 8k course in 37th with a time of 26:34.40. Sophomore Jeremiah Panec (Kenesaw, Neb.) came in at 27:08.08 for a 55th-place finish.
Freshman Bryce Blank (Rapid City, S.D.) ran a 28:44.72, while senior Tyler Urban (Plankinton, S.D.) ran a 32:47.86. Close behind Urban was senior Chaz Foss who placed 183rd in a time of 33:59.11. Danny Aldaba from Midland University won the race in a time of 24:46.15.
As a team the Tiger men finished in 13th place. The University of Sioux Falls won the invite on the men's side.
For the Tiger women, senior Skylar Forgey (Colome, S.D.) led the way finishing in the top 50 with a 49th-place finish. Forgey completed the 5k course in 19:10.25.
Coming in next for DWU was senior Nicole Court-Menendez (Lewiston, Maine) crossing the finish line in 20:58.50. Sophomore Shailhyn Schweigert (Burke, S.D.) ran the course in 21:04.35, while sophomore Morgan Aughenbaugh (Huron, S.D.) crossed the line with a time of 21:22. Lauren Ogg from Creighton University won the race with a 17:10.22.
The DWU women did not field a team. Creighton won the women's side.
The Tiger cross country teams are back in action at the Mount Marty Invite Saturday, Oct. 24 in Yankton, S.D.
