Sophomore (2017-18): Notched 6.9 points per game after shooting 45.1 percent from the field and 36.4 percent from 3-point range ... led the team with 5.8 rebounds per game and 192 total rebounds on the season ... ranked 35th nationally with a 2.4 assist-to-turnover ratio ... notched a career-high 19 points against Northwestern College on seven made field goals.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – With two seconds left and trailing by a point, Ty Hoglund (Dell Rapids, S.D.) threw up a shot from half court that missed just off the mark as the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team lost in heartbreaking fashion to the overall number one seed Indiana Wesleyan University, 87-86 in the second round of the NAIA Division II Men’s Basketball National Championships, presented by Athletic Care, Friday at the Sanford Pentagon.

The 2018-19 season might be a different story as the Tigers will rely on speed and quickness to wear down the opposition. One thing will remain the same – DWU will look for new ways to continue its strong tradition in hopes to finish near the top of the competitive Great Plains Athletic Conference and return to the NAIA National Tournament for a fifth straight season.
