HASTINGS, Neb. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Soccer traveled south to take on the Hastings Broncos in a GPAC contest against one of the conference's more prominent programs.

It took both teams a bit to get into rhythm, but the Tigers pushed the offensive pace early, putting up 13 shots in total compared to the six of Hastings. Lukas Adamhuber, Evan Bolster, and Colin Burke were the first Tigers to send shots towards the net. An aggressive Broncos defense would give the Tigers opportunities off of fouls, but it would take some time for them to convert. The 31st minute saw the first goal of the game from Luis Waeschle, who drilled his second goal of the season. The 1-0 lead would be short-lived, as the Broncos converted on a shot on goal of their own, bringing the score to 1-1 as both teams headed to halftime.

The backline kept the Hastings attack at bay, with Zackary Stephens only facing three shots on the DWU goal for the entire match, where he would record a save on the day. It would be another stretch of time before either team scored, but the Broncos broke through in the 67th minute to take the lead, 2-1. Much like the first half, however, the opposition was prepared to strike shortly after, as Adamhuber landed DWU's second goal in the 72nd minute off a pass from AJ Bowman to bring the score to 2-2. Tristin Hendricks recorded a final shot attempt for the Tigers that would not connect, and with the stout performance of the defense in the final 20 minutes, the Tigers and Broncos would come to a draw at 2-2. In the matchup's history for the Men's Soccer program, the Tigers had not recorded a win or tie until this contest. All-time, the Tigers are 0-21-1 against the Broncos.

DWU Men's Soccer will be back in action against the Northwestern Red Raiders on Wednesday, October 1st. See the full 2025 schedule here.
