MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's Soccer faced the Doane Tigers at the Pepsi-Cola Soccer Complex in a conference contest.
The DWU offense would get on the Doane opposition early, with Evan Bolster, Luis Waeschle, and Lukas Adamhuber recording four combined shots within the first 15 minutes of the contest. While two shots were on the goal, they were both saved by the goalkeeper to keep the offense at bay. The continued pressure on the opposite side of the pitch paid off in the 17th minute, as a Doane foul set up AJ Bowman on a free kick that connected with the back of the net. The 1-0 score remained for the rest of the first half, but the DWU offense continued to pressure the Doane backline. Dakota Wesleyan outshot Doane 24-7, limiting their attempts to just five in the first half and only two shots in the second. Goalkeeper Zackary Stephens recorded saves on both attempts on the DWU net in a full 90 minutes of competition.
Dakota Wesleyan broke the game open less than two minutes into the second half with Adamhuber tapping in a goal off a set of passes from Bolster and Maximilian Nolle to extend the lead to 2-0. The score would remain for another 25 minutes before Bowman scored his second goal of the day following another free kick off a Doane yellow card to put the Tigers ahead 3-0. Waeschle would be the final Tiger to register a goal on the day in the 82nd minute to push Dakota Wesleyan to a 4-0 lead, which ended up being the final score. With the win, Dakota Wesleyan moves to third in the GPAC standings with a conference record of 3-1-1, sitting behind just Midland and Northwestern.
DWU Men's Soccer will be back in action on Saturday, October 11th as they face the Midland Warriors on the road. See the full 2025 schedule here.
