MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan Men's & Women's Golf hosted and competed in the DWU Spring Invitational, with three rounds being played over two days at Lakeview Golf Course.
On the women's side of competition, two DWU Tigers claimed the top spots in the individual standings while the team finished third overall. Allison Meyerink won her fifth tournament of the 2025-26 season, posting a 76 (+4) in round one, 77 (+5) in round two, and her best mark of 74 (+2) in the third and final round to finish 11 strokes above par at 227 overall. Sara Sudenga followed closely behind with one of the best performances of her career, bouncing back from an 82 (+10) from round two by improving in the final round by seven strokes, wrapping up round three at 75 (+3) to finish with an overall mark of 234 (+18), and sit in second place on the women's side of competition. Dakotah Larson squeaked into the top 10 with a 249 (+33), whose performance also included a massive improvement from day one to day two, where she tallied a 79 (+7) in round three to jump back up the leaderboard. Tessa Bulson recorded a 313, improving by a few strokes in each round, while Jaida Young wrapped up the effort for the women's team with a final score of 332.
The men's team would also place third in the final team standings, this time finishing ahead of seven other groups with a solid all-around performance. Dakota Munger had a career day on the home course, posting 71 (-1) marks in both rounds one and three to finish in second place out of all male competitors with a final score of 213 (-2), which included 12 birdies and an eagle in the final round. Peyton Bettcher would place sixth with a final score of 220, finishing just a few strokes above par following a solid third-round performance. Bettcher would record an eagle of his own alongside nine birdies. Benjamin Wilber would be the third-highest placer for the Tigers with an overall stroke count of 232 (16), while Will Jarding would wrap up just a couple of spots behind him with a final mark of 235 (+19). Ryan Flannery opened the meet with a 75 (+3) score in round one to gain early momentum, ultimately finishing with a score of 237 (21), and Colin Burke rounded out the team's effort with a 268 at the end of the tournament.
