Volleyball Sweeps Rocky Mountain in DWU's Final Match of the Siouxland Invitational

SIOUX CITY, Iowa — RV Dakota Wesleyan Volleyball wrapped up its weekend at the Siouxland Invitational with a win against Rocky Mountain College. 

The Tigers got out to a hot start against the Battlin' Bears in the first set with Karly VanDerWerff leading the way. She would land six kills in set one as Dakota Wesleyan would swiftly claim the set by a score of 25-8. Rocky Mountain would claim the first few points of the second set, but another DWU scoring run would put the Tigers a step ahead of the Battlin' Bears as the match continued. Olivia Bures, Emily Dale, and Evy Knoblock would heat up in set two, each contributing multiple kills to extend DWU's lead and eventually claim a 25-16 victory. Lily Ranschau would also chime in on the offensive front, finishing the day with six total kills. 

The final set of the day would see the Dakota Wesleyan take another early lead that would be tightly contested by Rocky Mountain. On the defensive front, Elizabeth Tyler would total 18 digs in three sets while VanDerWerff and Kayleigh Hybertson contributed multiple blocks at the net. Hybertson also tallied 29 assists during the contest. The Battlin' Bears would find responses to the Tigers' attack, but DWU would ultimately pull away and claim the third set and match by a score of 25-21.
